The Crazy Things I Find Myself Doing Lately.

I've struggled lately finding a topic to blog about, feeling run-down, stressed and just too busy. So instead, I have decided to make fun of my own silly ways and share some of the crazy things I have found myself doing lately as a stay at home Mom and Wife.

The Crazy Things
I Find Myself Doing Lately...

10. Eating my 2-year-old's left over, dried-up lunch for dinner.

9. Wiping my dirty hands on my pants throughout the day with the justification that I have already been puked, pooped or spit-up on.

8. Preferring my kids' sing-along music while driving alone.

7. Using the boys' wipees when the TP runs out.

6. Microwaving coffee in the morning from the day before.

5. Wishing that the grocery store had a drive-through! (And being oh-so-grateful for the beloved Starbucks' drive-up window).

4. My 2-year-old insisting on me singing the "Small Potatoes" theme song in the doctor's office and I do it.

3. Only having enough time to shave one leg.

2. Worshipping the babysitter like a god, because my husband and I are like passing ships in the night, only to spend our entire date talking about the kids and checking in on them.

1. Spending the day looking forward to bedtime in order to savour a quiet moment, only to find myself missing the boys so much that I have to sit and watch them as they sleep, so peacefully in their snuggly beds.

btw, Happy Halloween!
enjoy every moment with your little pumpkins.

Have I Ever Told You?

Have I ever told you
that you teach me to laugh
You laugh often. You make me laugh. And it is good.

Have I ever told you
that because of you, I am learning to be patient
So that your memories will always be sweet ones.

Have I ever told you
that you are teaching me the value of five minutes
A busy mommy can get anything done when given just a few free minutes.

Have I ever told you
that you inspire me to be kind
So that you will learn to care about others.

Have I ever told you
that you bring me unsurpassable joy
Your smiles are medicine to my soul.

Have I ever told you
that you are teaching me the value of good rest
Play hard, sleep hard.

Have I ever told you
that you inspire me to have fun
And the worries of Momma's day just seem to drift away.

Have I ever told you
that you are teaching me to never take myself too seriously
Life with you is just too much fun to waste a minute with worry.

Have I ever told you
that just when I think I love you the most,
I realize in a minute that I love you even more.

Pumpkin Bread with Chocolate Chunks

To hold onto this yummy Fall recipe would be a crime! My sweet friend, Chelsie Johnson brought this pumpkin bread to me and I swiftly proceeded to eat the entire loaf within a day and a half. So late last night during a sweet tooth craving, I decided to try the recipe out myself and it again did not disappoint! So now I am sharing this recipe with you...as long as you promise to enjoy every bite and share it with others!....

Pumpkin Bread with Chocolate Chunks
Ingredients:
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 c sugar
1 2/3 c flour
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon

2 eggs
1/2 c veg oil
1 c pumpkin
1/2 c water
1 c semi sweet chocolate chunks

1. Lightly grease  a 9x5 loaf pan. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Combine the dry (first 8) ingredients.
3. In a separate bowl mix the eggs, veg oil, pumpkin and water.
4. Add the moist mixture to the dry until well blended. Stir in chocolate chunks. Pour batter into prepared pan.
5. Bake in preheated oven for 60 minutes. Makes one loaf. ( I needed to cook it an extra 5 minutes.)

I hope you are enjoying the beginnings of the beautiful Fall season. The boys and I are welcoming the cool breezes with open arms and spending as much time outside as possible. Here's Jackson and Nathan right before their first slide ride together!...

My New Welcome Post

...My recent urge to craft continues...
this week was a project I found on Pinterest (surprise) again...Only took my husband one run to the hardware store to purchase the necessary electric power tools. A bit much? Probably so, but I'm happy with how it turned out. And I'm convinced my creative energy is a positive release from all of the stress of being a stay-at-home mom and wife.

Here is the final product. I'm proud of my Welcome Post let alone that I even finished it, another way to try and spruce up our front porch...
The original creator and a full tutorial can be found here. She had the cute idea to make different signs for the different seasons...we'll see if my craftiness continues...I guess that depends on how stressed out I'm feeling.

Random Rambling...
Here is a highlight from my past week...enjoying the last few weeks of humid summer heat...(but oh-so-ready to welcome the cute-boots-sweater-pumpkin-spice-latte season!!)
